Uiniversity of Ibadan emerges winner of Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi Inter-School Debate Competition.
Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi Debate and essay competition is an annual inter-school debate and essay competion organized in honour of Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi, founder and publisher of the popular Pharmanews; a pharmaceutical journalism based company. This year witnessed the fourth edition of the competition finals which held on the 14th of June, 2018
Having locked horns with other schools, University of Ibadan emerged overall winner of the debate and oratory contest speaking on the topic, “The Solution to Nigeria Beleagured Health Care System; Adequate Funding or Good Leadership”, among others. Other visiting schools were University of Uyo UNIUYO, University of Lagos UNILAG, Obafemi Awolowo University OAU, Olabisi Onabanjo University OOU.
It was reported that an essay competition had earlier being conducted and it is worthy of praise that the winner of the essay competition happened to be a campus journalist from University of Ibadan by the name Mr. Chidera Anushiem, a student of the Faculty of Pharmacy and resident in Great Independence Hall, followed by students from Olabisi Onabanjo University who took the second and third places.
