Professor Ayobami Ojebode, the Acting Head of Department of Communication and Language Arts who newly became a professor, has said that professorship is not the peak of his career.
He said this at an interview reported by ACLAS PRESS through the Union of Campus Journalists News Centre (UCJNC).
“It is not the time to relax and stretch my legs, sit on a beach and drink whisky. It is time to roll my sleeves and begin work. There is life after professorship”, he said.
He advised students to grab every opportunity to increase their human capacity and see every kind of trouble as stepping stones. Professor Ojebode joined the University of Ibadan in February 2000, obtained his Ph.D in 2002 and became a Senior Lecturer in 2008. He had been Acting HOD since 2011.
