HOPE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW

The inefficiency of most workers in the Nigerian system is a worrisome challenge to a country like ours. If we decide to look at each and every sector, the academic, the engineering, the medical, political, economic, financial and so on, we would find lapses in everything.
I am beginning to wonder that it is the foundation that is destroyed because if the foundation is not destroyed then the building should stand. When students pay fees for special centers and their families or parents help them to pay for answers in any exams. It is so disheartening that from creche, the corruption has entered into the minds of people. I remember a woman taking her child out of a standard school with good teachers to a family school with the excuse that he can never fail even if he does not know anything. In a society where all what we want is our certificate that we cannot defend. That is why the level of crime rate has increased in the multiplicative way and our economic is depreciating at a dividing rate.
I think it is high time we awaken ourselves to a reformative period. What differentiated an age from another age in the ancient world was the change that came up, the intellectuals that woke up from their slumber, which brought other ideas greater than the ideas their lecturers gave or taught them. Those who defined their generation were those who were filled with the quest to know more and they were never satisfied with the simple knowledge and hypothesis they were given by those ahead of them. Those that decides to break grounds and were effervescent in all they did, putting everything they can so that they would get the best. I think it is time we rise up and define an age for ourselves and allow our names to be written on the sands of time.
Let us get hungry for more knowledge like Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Xenophanes, Anthanatius, Alexander, William Shakespeare, Wole Soyinka, Wilberforce and others whose name can never leave our minds.
