The University of Ibadan Students’ Union Transport Committee has directed intra-campus tricycle (Maruwa) and cab operators to accept bank transfers from passengers.
The directive was contained in a public notice issued by the committee on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. According to the notice, operators are not permitted to “impose additional charges on passengers who pay through bank transfers. Passengers are expected to pay only the approved fare regardless of their preferred payment method.”
The committee also advised passengers who intend to pay by transfer to make their payments at the beginning of their trips. This is to enable operators to confirm the transactions before passengers reach their destinations and reduce delays during drop-off. Students were further urged to cooperate with transport operators to facilitate smoother movement within the campus.
The committee also provided contacts, including Bobby and Tiftase, for students to report alleged cases of extortion. The directive applies to intra-campus tricycle and cab operators, according to the notice.
