The Sigma Club, University of Ibadan, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, kicked off the 6th edition of its annual Roseline Etuokwu National Secondary School Quiz Competition nationwide.
As the competition is held at three stages—state, regional, and national —the first stage, which was held on Saturday, being the state-level competition, was conducted in all 36 states of the Federation, including the FCT.
The Oyo state stage of the competition was hosted within the University of Ibadan, and it had fourty-seven schools in attendance, which include Living Stone College, Top Rank International School, The Vale College, Oritameta Baptist Model School Totally Gardens, Ring Road and Akobo, The MaitreBuilders College, The International College and Best Legacy International School, Everest College amongst others.
At the end of the program, which was held at the Faculty of Social Sciences LLT, Best Legacy International School emerged the winner for Oyo state with a total score of 95 and The International College, UI came second with 91.
The next round of the competition, which is the regional round, is slated to happen sometime in March, where we will see each state winner compete against each other at the regional level based on geopolitical zone.
The Roseline Etuokwu Sigma Secondary School Quiz Competition is a philanthropic initiative of the Sigma Club at the University of Ibadan, designed to connect with and inspire secondary school students and the competition has been a national competition right from its 4th edition.
