The LAUTECH male basketball team defeated the UI male basketball team to qualify for the NUGA games that will be held later this year.
LAUTECH started on a strong foot, scoring their first two points as early as the first twenty seconds in the first quarter of the game. The first quarter ended with LAUTECH securing a lead of 11 points to UI’s 7 points.
The scoreline seemed to change in the second quarter with UI rising to the feat, winning the second quarter, but could not make it count in the overall scoreline. UI won the second quarter with 8 points to 7 points, but still kept LAUTECH leading with 18 points to 15 points.
LAUTECH dominated the third quarter, winning all rebounds at both ends and scoring a total of 22 points. The UI side seemed to have lost the balance of the game as they could only score 4 points in the third quarter, ending the third quarter with LAUTECH leading with 40 points to 19 points.
LAUTECH continued the punishment in the final quarter, making the game look easy for the spectators. The LAUTECH team was able to accumulate 18 points in the final quarter while the UI team accumulated a total of 6 points in the final quarter.
Team UI fell to team LAUTECH on home soil 25-58 in male basketball pre NUGA games.
