As part of the proceedings of the Students’ Representative Council Sitting on Saturday, the House’s Committee on Internal Affairs presented a report on it’s activities from inception till the second week of this semester.
According to the report, this committee was set up as a central head of all other committees within the House.
Among other things, the report cited activities of the committee ranging from “Establishment of House Committee on Internal Affairs,” to “First Committee Meeting,” to “Circulation of Role Description Document by the Speaker UI’SU SRC.”
The report also showed a bullet point list of the results of the Committee’s activities.
“Successful inauguration and structuring of the committee. Engagement in inter-committee activities, fostering liaison. Clear definition of roles through circulation of the role description. Active participation in collaborative meetings. Internal audit and committee activity assessment.” The report read.
Accordingly, the challenges faced by the committee, as cited in the report, included, “Cultural lag,” “Limited time frame since inception,” “Failure of some committee Chairpersons to meet the deadline,” and “Administrative and diplomatic overload.”
