On Friday 20th June 2025, the department of Human Kinetics emerged champions of the Seals Cup as Debby’s brace again, sealed the win for the KHE girls. The match, played on the Old SUB pitch was marked by defensive discipline and KHE’s clinical execution. Debby, the Stargirl of the day, scored twice as KHE stamped their authority in the final.
Philosophy got the game underway but it was KHE who immediately took control. Just a minute in, Favour of KHE broke through the Philosophy defense earning an early corner to settle the tone for KHE’s attack. Philosophy responded with a corner of their own in the 3rd minute but their effort went inches wide before KHE almost hit them on the counter. The game’s momentum shifted dramatically in the 6th minute when Debby scores an extraordinary goal directly from a goalkick.
This caught the Philosophy backline off guard and left their Goalkeeper injured in the process.Philosophy tried to regroup and push for an equalizer. Heritage of Philosophy came close in the 14th minute but their shot drifted just wide. Meanwhile, the Philosophy goalkeeper made crucial saves in the 15th and 17th minutes to prevent KHE from extending their lead. Tayo Gold in KHE’S goal was equally alert, stopping Philosophy’s counter-attack just before halftime.
The second half began much like the first ended with KHE on the front foot. Just three minutes in, Debby struck again, calmly converting her second of the evening through a FreeKick to double KHE’S lead and dampen Philosophy’s comeback hopes. Despite their efforts to come back into the game, Philosophy’s attacks were repeatedly neutralized by a well-organized KHE defense led by Debby.
Heritage continued to prove for Philosophy, but the end product never materialized and their final push lacked the cutting edge required to breach KHE’S defense.
With a commanding performance, KHE proved deserving champions with Debby’s individual brilliance and KHE tactical discipline. This result makes the KHE females the champions of the female category of 2025 Seals Cup, dominating the competition from start to finish.
