Comics, Creativity and Games: Synergy’25 holds at University of Ibadan

Comic Con Ibadan in partnership with Nexal Gaming Company, hosted Synergy 2025 on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan. The event, which brought together comic book enthusiasts and gamers, featured exhibitions from comic brands, anime product vendors, and award presentations.

The E-sports competition, which started with the preliminary earlier in the week, saw participants competing in five categories of games, Call of Duty Mobile, EAFC, Free Fire, e-football, and Chess.

The finals were played at the event, with winners sharing a total prize sum of ₦750,000.

Each winner received a medal and ₦150,000.

The winners of the e-gaming tournaments included Ebenezer Poba from the Faculty of Sciences and Angelina from the Faculty of Technology who emerged first and second place in the E football category.

Blessing Akporherhe from the Faculty of Clinical Sciences and Adeleke Leo from the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, who emerged first and second place respectively in the E-chess category.

Other winners included Bidemi Famoriyo from the Faculty of Education and Emmanuel Giwa from the Faculty of Technology who emerged winners in the Free Fire and Call of Duty Mobile categories.

The award ceremony recognized exceptional comic brands and artists, with categories including Colorist of the Year, Trailblazers of the Year, Comic Brand of the Year, and Comic Artist of the Year.

The event also featured cosplay, with anime and cartoon enthusiasts dressing up as their favorite characters and the audience choosing their best costume dressers.
