The Sigma Club of the University of Ibadan had the preliminary rounds of the annual Roseline Etuokwu National Secondary School Quiz Competition on January 18, 2025 in various parts of Nigeria.
This competition aims to promote academic excellence and moral integrity and it featured participants from across Nigeria’s 36 states. It also seeks to foster intellectual growth and prepare secondary school students for life in higher institutions.
According to the club, the initiative introduces young minds to its principles of discipline, academic pursuit, and moral uprightness.
“Introducing the club to them right from their secondary school days would guide them in manners to act and way of life to live as students of higher institutions,” the Club said.
“During this competition, moral and educational knowledge are displayed and students are being trained in manners to become whole human and stand for all that is pure,” the statement also reads.
Notable schools, including Grace High School, Lagos, Deeper Life High School, Aba, and Air Force Secondary School, Makurdi, have already emerged as state champions and now qualified for the regional rounds.
The Roseline Etuokwu Sigma National Secondary School Quiz Competition is part of the club’s philanthropic outreach to connect with the grassroots.
