Seals Cup’24: Pharmacy Holds Microbiology To a Goalless Draw

Pharmacy and Microbiology have played out a goalless draw in their first group B encounter played on Monday July 29th at SUB football pitch

The first half began with both teams having a go at each other. Pharmacy skipper, Mustapha was everywhere on the pitch in the early stages trying to force the issue, but there was no breakthrough for him and his team.

The second half resumed with Microbiology rattling the cross bar after a player had been put through on goal one on one with the goalkeeper.

Lumi stung the hands of the pharmacy goalkeeper with a ferocious free kick deep into the second half.

Pharmaccy introduced Dr Show while Microbiology brought on the experienced Pogba to try and make meaning out of the game.

As pharmacy continued to seek for the winner, IfeOluwa curled in a beautiful effort but it was not enough to trouble the goalkeeper.

Substituted Pogba danced through a crowd of pharmacy players to set his teammate towards goal but his move was thwarted by a resolute microbiology defense.

At the end of 60 minutes, both sides were unable to break the deadlock as the referee signaled the end of this second group B encounter of the day.

The result means both sides are now tied on one point each with all to play for in their next group fixtures.
