NAOSUI Inaugurates New Executive Council

The National Association of Oyo Students (NAOSUI), University of Ibadan Chapter, has inaugurated a new executive council to lead the association for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday at the Nnamdi Azikwe Hall Quadrangle.

Akande Pelumi Joshua, a final-year political science student, was installed as the new president. He will be supported by Alaka Muideen (General Secretary), Adebisi Roheemat (Treasurer), Oniwinde Suliat (Social Director), and Azeez Yusuf (Public Relations Officer).

Former NAOSUI Vice President, Mr Oyekola Abdulmuizz was among dignitaries who graced the occasion. In his remarks, Abdulmuizz urged members to remain active in the association, emphasizing the benefits of unity among Oyo indigenes on campus. He also encouraged students to prioritize their academic pursuits.

In his acceptance speech, newly inaugurated president, Akande Pelumi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead NAOSUI. “I am truly humbled and honoured to lead an organization that represents the bright minds and future leaders from my home state of Oyo is a great privilege stand”, he said.

Pelumi pledged to advocate for the interests and well-being of all Oyo students during his tenure. He called on members to get involved in the association’s activities.
