
Five students of the University of Ibadan Faculty of Veterinary Medicine have been awarded the 2023 WVA/MSD Animal Health Veterinary Student Scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded by the World Veterinary Association in recognition of their academic achievements and it would aid the development of their academic and future veterinary careers.
These students emerged from a long list of 8 winners in Nigeria and each of them would receive 2,500 US Dollars to aid their educational development.
“WVA and MSD Animal Health are delighted to contribute to the advancement of the global veterinary community through the empowerment of veterinary students who are the future of the veterinary profession. We would like to thank all the veterinary students who submitted applications and encourage those who didn’t receive it to apply again in 2024,” the official statement read in part.
Announcing this development, the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the institution through her LinkedIn page congratulated these students expressing confidence in the future of the profession.
“We are proud of this great feat and assured that the future of our young Veterinarians is indeed bright.
“Congratulations to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan,” she said.
