The Students’ Representative Council, University of Ibadan has on Saturday, 8th July 2023 approved the financial report of activities for the 2021/2022 Students’ Union week.
The expenditure which was presented by the former Students’ Union Vice-President, Oluotanmi Zainab detailed activities such as Carnival, Personality Lecture, Health Day, Sport and Jersey DayEvent (Marathon), Variety Night and Trade Fair, sponsorship, quotation, as well as financial overhead expended during the week-long event.
The grid of the analysis which summarized the purchase of services and goods spent during the 2021/2022 Students’ Union week showed that a grand total sum of Four million, seven hundred and forty-one thousand, and eighty naira (#4,741,080) was used up by the Students’ Union, while an accrued debt figure which amounts to Three hundred and seventy five thousand naira (#375,000) is yet to be duly settled.
A copy of the financial report reads that “ADBOND HOMES &PROPERTIES agreed to sponsor the winners of MR&MISS UI cashprize” which has not been met as of the time of report.
“However, the winners are yet to be credited and they (winners) areclose to dragging us because they are yet to receive their cash prizewhich is why I still included it. Other service providers and winnersin the yet to be paid are yet to paid for their services” the statement read.
