Contrary to the instruction of the Electoral Committee that all campaign activities should cease at 11:59 pm on Friday, June 16, some students were observed at halls canvassing votes for their candidates.

Although the Electronic Voting platform was still glitchy at the time of writing this report, attempts to win over voters were particularly obvious at Ransome Kuti Hall. The UCJ observed students who claimed to be residents proceeding in small teams from door to door.

At Sultan Bello Hall, some students who were later confirmed to be non-Bellites were seen knocking on occupants’ doors. They were later requested to exit the Hall following the intervention of stakeholders.

At the Lord Tedder Hall, when members of the Watchroom visited around 10 a.m., the inner gate leading to the hostel blocks were manned by members of the hall. Although no one was prevented from entering, Egunfemi Akinbobola, the Hall Chairman stated that it was intended to prevent people from being coerced. Some minutes after 11 o’clock when the team returned, the gate was widely open and access was uninterrupted.
