The National Association of Philosophy Students on Friday 24th October, 2014 held her annual public lecture which was tagged Democracy: A Sine- Qua non
to Millennium Development Goals. The lecture started at about 12pm at Kuti Hall Cafeteria University of Ibadan. The program had in attendance Barrister Kazeem Adedeji, former commissioner for commerce, Oyo State, the chief speaker at the lecture, other reputable guests and students of the department. The chief speaker spoke extensively on the millennium development goals and he gave reasons why democracy should serve as an essential means of achieving those goals. He proffered possible solutions to lingering problems in the country and he also encouraged the youths not to shy away from participating in politics.
The Student-Staff liaison officer of the department, Mrs. Ipadeola and Dr. Afolayan were in attendance, although there was a low turnout from NAPSites and the general public.
