Representatives of the Sigma Club, University of Ibadan paid a courtesy visit to Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, at State House, Abuja on Friday, 2 December 2022.
Mr Adesina who is an Honorary member of the club received them happily and proceeded to speak highly of the high standard of conduct the club has maintained since it was founded in 1950.
“I am very proud to be a Sigmite”, he said.
The team that visited the Special Adviser to the President included the Sigma Chief, Lucky Eluwa; Sigma Chief Scribe, Benjamin Babatola, and the Sigma Publicity Chairman, Fijabi Oluwatobi.
In the statement sent to UCJUI by the club’s Publicity Committee Chairman, Loyalist Fijabi Oluwatobi, it was stated that, “the visitation is a means to congratulate and express joy with the conferment of the National Award/Honour in the Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON, on Mr Femi Adesina which proves his worth as a true sigmite, a rare breed.”
It was stated that a number of issues were discussed, one of which was regarding the suspended ASUU strike, that affected the club members academically, but did not stop the club’s activities like the Roseline Etuokwu Sigma Secondary School Quiz Competition, the SIGMA Scholarship Scheme, and the Sigma Skill Acquisition Training from holding.
The visitation ended with a cross-section of the photographs with the club and host.
