“Don’t Romanticise the Future that you Forget to Live in the Present” Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa Urges.

Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa, an On-Air Personality (OAP) at Splash FM Nigeria and author of “Lara’s Lessons” has urged students to live in the present and not romanticise the future more than they should.

She said this yesterday at the Book Reading and Signing event which took place at the Faculty of Arts’ Small Lecture Theatre, the University of Ibadan with Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa and Sianah Nalika Deshield as the special guests.

Giwa-Onafuwa, who is also a Girlchild Advocate, talked about the problems that the girl child encounters in the society while speaking about her first book, “Lara’s Lessons”.

Sianah Nalika Deshield, a Liberian novelist, blogger, and author who was also present at the event explained to the audience how tight family bond, cultural diversity and Uniqueness inspired her to write her fifth book- “Who is Ma Kemah?”. She discussed this during the panel session that occurred in the course of the programme. A chapter of the book was also read and the theme of the book was analysed.

The Chief Executive Officer of Purple Bloom publishers, Mrs Oyekan Adejoke, clarified how a publishing house works and said manuscripts were welcomed from students. While presenting certificates to some of the executives of the Association of Faculty of Arts Students who organised the event, she expressed her gratitude to them for organising the event successfully.
