Amazing, wonderful, talented, industrious, these and many more qualities are what Buju has. Buju has transcended into something, an enigma of a giant in the Nigerian music industry. Buju did not plan on becoming an artiste but is turning out wonderfully as an artiste. He is bringing out hit upon hit upon hit. He is pretty consistent in delivering hit songs. His melodious voice goes with his harmonious tone. Everything just blends perfectly with one another. It is what he has that has made him particularly distinct from most artistes in the industry. He has succeeded in creating a niche for himself in the industry.
Daniel Benson aka Buju has transformed into an incredible singer over the years. How he moved from just being a simple 22-year-old Akwa Ibom to a famous and very distinct musician is all due to his brilliance. Buju has completely taken the Nigerian music industry by storm. His brand of music, Afro fusion is increasingly being cemented into Buju’s ears because of his renditions of the genre of music. He has succeeded winning many people’s heart to his music.
Buju has always have the knack of singing. According to multiple reports, he had started singing since when he was in the secondary school. As at that time though, Buju did not have the slightest cue that he was going to go into music professionally. He was taking it little by little, doing it as his passion leads. It was not until he was particularly dissatisfied with the IT job, he had that he fully decided to go into music. The dissatisfaction he had for his It job was caused by the interest and passion he had for music. He wanted to make music. That was his dream, his passion, and desire to make music, not just music but beautiful, harmonious, sweet and melodious music.
He felt he had the flair, the charisma and talent to making good and making quality music. This led to him releasing his first professional single Catch a vibe. It did not receive as much traction as the rest of his singles but it was the start of something great. Catch your vibe was the start of something new and special in his music career. It was his first statement in the Nigerian music industry. It enabled scouts and talent searchers to take notice of his music. He then released another single A Day in Lagos. It was masterfully sung by Buju. The music video was also creatively done as it was recorded on a boat.
His first ever major feature was with Zlatan. Zlatan always had a knack for discovering new talents. He enjoys watching and helping them grow. Zlatan featured him on the hit track Spiritual. Spiritual was a well-blended song. Zlatan and Buju had this amazing chemistry on the single. Buju featuring on this track gave him a little bit of popularity in the music industry. It gave him the traction he needed. It gave him a sort of standing in the industry.
Buju moved on to greater things to release L’Enu. It can be said that L’Enu was the multi hit single that announced Buju to not only the Nigerian music industry but the world. L’Enu was a masterclass from Buju. The way he blended his voice tom the beat, rendering in the Yoruba indigenous language gave the music a melodious tune. He released this song after Burna boy signed him into Spaceship records. His rendition of the song earned him a remix with Burna Boy. Burna Boy employed his expertise, skill and talent into the music. He also added his popularity to the music. Buju and Burna Boy was the perfect blend that gave the hit single a major facelift. It gave the single more streams and increased Buju’s popularity. Buju announced himself to the world with his hit single, Burna Boy enunciated that announcement and gave him more popularity.
2021 has been Buju best year so far. He has grown from strengths to strengths and from boundaries to boundaries. He keeps on surpassing people expectations of him. He has certainly lasted more than many people thought he would last. Buju has featured in many top 10 songs this year alone. Outside, Testimony amidst others are his own singles that has featured in top 10 songs on different platforms. His top 10 feature songs that is songs he has featured on that has made it to top 10 songs on different music platforms are Feeling- a song he rendered beautifully with Ladipoe, a fast-rising talented Nigerian rapper. They had good chemistry on that song. Bling- Blaqbonez featured him on the single. It was also a really good song.
He is also featured on Zlatan’s newly released songs Alubarika and Wizkid newly released track “Mood” on his refurbished album Made in Lagos Deluxe. The songs will enter the top 10 songs on various music platforms sooner rather than later.
Buju is a great artiste with a beautiful voice and melodious tune. He is an artiste with tremendous talent. At this stage, Buju can only grow. There is no spiral downwards for him, he can only go up. He is one of the futures of the music industry. His greatness is only just starting.
