The University of Ibadan has appointed four distinguished retired scholars of the College of Medicine as Emeritus Professors on Monday, 24th of February, 2025.
The approval for these appointments was given by the Senate of the University of Ibadan at its meeting on that same day.
The appointment of these distinguished scholars was done in recognition of their contribution to academia in their fields of study.
The appointees include; Emeritus Professor A.O Ojengbende, an expert in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Emeritus Professor O. Gureje, a leading psychologist, Emeritus Professor S. I Omokhodion, a specialist in Paediatric Cardiology and Emeritus Professor A. Ogunniyi, a specialist in Occupational and Community Medicine.
“The College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, celebrates these eminent scholars for their lifetime dedication to research, teaching, and service.
Their elevation to Emeritus Professorship is a testament to their contributions and impact in their chosen fields of expertise.
