IVORY HONOURS ENDS ON A LOW NOTE
The hotly anticipated Ivory Honours ended with a power outage. The event held at Trenchard Hall on Friday. It was billed to begin at 4 pm but it did not commence until 7 : 23. The hosts, Rapping Daddy and Say The Truth tried to buy time long enough for the organisers to be set. Due to poor turn-out, those who had been asked to sit in the gallery because they had bought regular tickets, were allowed to come down to the main floor.
Korede Bello and ChinkoEkun reportedly did not show up at the event. “Adura” crooner, Oyinkanade took to the stage to give a rousing performance. Singer-cum-comedian Fallzthe Bad Guy, came up on stage to accept his honorary award and expressed his gratitude. It was then that the authorities took the lights at about 9:45 pm much to everyone’s dismay. In groups, people soon flocked out of the hall.
Some people have now criticised the awards, calling it a show for a clique to award themselves with plaques.
