UI Holds Day Two of Its Convocation Ceremony

The University of Ibadan held the second day of its 2025 Convocation Ceremony on Tuesday, November 12, at the International Conference Centre (ICC), University of Ibadan.

The event featured graduating students from the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine, the Social Sciences, Law, Technology, Renewable Natural Resources, and Economics and Management Sciences.

The ceremony recognised outstanding academic performances, with special acknowledgement given to first-class graduates who were later led to exchange handshakes with the Vice-Chancellor.

From the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources emerged the overall best graduating student and the best student in the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management.

In the Faculty of Technology, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering produced the overall best graduating students, Busoye Tolulope Matthew and Busoye Opegbemi Matthias.

The Faculty of the Social Sciences saw Miss Falade receive the highest number of awards. At the same time, Miss Popoola from the Department of Political Science emerged as the faculty’s best graduating student.

The Faculty of Law recorded the highest number of first-class graduates, while the Faculty of Economics had an all-female set of first-class graduands.

Although absent at the event, the overall best graduating student, Favour Ajibade from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, addressed the audience via a video message. Now a practising doctor in the United States, he congratulated his fellow graduates and urged them to make a meaningful impact in their various fields.

The Founder’s Day activities are expected to continue through the week as part of the University’s 2025 Convocation Ceremonies.
