True love does not exist

love-230a
You read right! True love does not exist. I am not out of my mind. I am not depressed. I am not ‘losing it’. I am not anything your head has attached with that phrase. But before you jump into the imminent conclusion that I do not know what love is, I implore you to put your stereotypic glasses down, take off your hat, get rid of bias and hear (more like read) me out. Take a deep breath and relax.
In a world where two people stumble into each other in a mall, accidentally have similar interests and likes, strike up a conversation, go out a couple of times to a restaurant, hold hands in the sun, run together in the rain, I bring you the reality report that true love does not exist. The same love that sparked conversation at the first meeting, strikes silence during meals. The same love that brought you together in a world of interest pulls you apart in opposite directions. The same love that bonds your hands together separates it after the chemistry has been taken over by biology. Tell me if that is true love.
I bring you greetings from your dreamland where you see yourself in the company of your siblings, skating down the ice, laughing and throwing snowballs at each other. How you cover up for each other in public and shield one another from insult from others. Welcome to the present where you alone understand what is meant to be you, where the only other person born in your generation in your family sees you as an alien that was unfortunate enough to escape into their very good family. God bless your soul if you are the younger sibling.
Welcome to a class where everyone can easily be on a first class without one hindering the other. But as providence will have it, the knowledge of the hoarding of materials is the beginning of the understanding that slys abound. A place where everyone rejoices underneath that you are sick during a test or an exam only so your grade can drop with a thud. How amazing!
Oh! Lest I forget, you tell me that the love that a mother has for her child is true. How true is a love that abandons and joins the rest of the society to ostracize a daughter just because she was pregnant as a result her step-father’s incessant sexual molestation. Or a mother who left a daughter to live out on the street because she got pregnant just so she can “learn her lesson”. Wake up from your illusion.
Do not get me wrong. Love exists. But, how true is it. This is just my opinion; you do not have to buy into it.
