THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED WILL BE REPRESNTED IN MY ADMINISTRATION—Hon. Oyegunle Paul

An aspirant vying for the post of Speaker in the 6th Assembly of the Students Representative Council of the University of Ibadan, Hon. Oyegunle Gbenga Paul has said the interests of the physically challenged students in the University will be represented if he emerges.

The aspirant who is also the outgoing Chief Whip of the 5th Assembly made this known to UCJUI correspondent during an interview on wednesday.

The 300 level student of the department of Political Science, while describing the 5th Assembly where he was a principal officer, said it has been wonderful amidst obstacles as he thanked God that they had set a landmark. He added that they are possible policies and legacies that the 5th assembly has set and his administration “will absorb the good legacies and we are going to add new ideas so we can have a better administration”.

The representative from Kenneth Mellanby Hall constituency, while speaking on his plans if elected as Speaker in the forthcoming election said; “We will be giving priority to the administrative base of the council. Administrative base is about setting up the right platforms that will ensure that we get efficiency because that is what my agenda is aimed at.” He added that “my administration will see that the physically challenged is represented in the council. We will voice out their interest”.

Buttressing his point on the representation of the interest of the physically challenged, the aspirant mentioned that “we can easily bring in the President of the physically challenged society to come and represent their interest.”

Commenting on the Mote’s issue, the aspirant said “we are going to meet with the management, table the situation to them then look at the possible means in which we can diplomatically get the desired result.”

Paul said his vision is “all about resonating the voice and interest of the Uites”.
