The 6th Assembly of the Students’ Representatives Council, University of Ibadan, has granted approval for the sum of N3, 253, 337.5 for the offices of House Secretary, Treasurer, P.R.O and General Secretary.
The approval was made during an emergency sitting on 3rd September 2016 and presided by the Speaker of the Council, Rt. Hon. Onifade Bello at the SRC Chambers.
A sum of N731, 377.50 was approved for the office of the House Secretary, after Mr. Os
asona Oluwatosin, the House Secretary, defended his budget. The motion for approval was moved by Hon. Kafu from Kuti Hall constituency and seconded by Hon. Oreoluwa from Awo Hall constituency.
For the office of the Treasurer, a sum of N509, 600 was approved by the Council as against the sum of N710, 000 which was budget by the Students’ Union treasurer, Mr. Ore Kelvin.
The office of the Public Relations Officer of the Union, Mr. Oladosu Olaleye, got the approval of 1,677,050 as against the N1,756,550 which he presented. The money approved included expenses for carrying out his duties, for the students’ union monthly bulletin, students’ union press club, jaw war, among others.
The General Secretary, Mr. Agboola Oluwafemi secured the approval of N335, 310 for his office alone, as against the N540, 150 which he presented. The budget for the Students’ Union Secretariat was not treated by the Council until it is renovated by the House Secretary.
