MUSAN-UI CELEBRATES VALENTINE’S DAY, ORGANISES WELCOME PARTY FOR UITES

Amidst this period of economic recession and doldrum written all over the faces of the University environment, the Music Students Association of Nigeria, MUSAN,University of Ibadan deems it fit to organise a music show to celebrate Valentine, tagged ‘RED ROSES’ in conjunction with a welcome song ahead of resumption.

The programme which started by 5:00pm on February 15, 2017 and ended by 8:00pm was graced with various songs and beats. The Master of ceremony, one Miss Seun, when asked about the importance of the program said, in her words:

‘This program is set up solely by Music students to welcome people back on campus and to celebrate Valentine. It is tagged RED ROSES. And apart from this, it is also to sensitize people in U.I community and make them know how important music is to every part of the body. The life in music is not exempted. It lifts the spirit of students and help them do what they feel is impossible’. When asked about the music they’ve  performed, she said,’ We’ve performed Reggae, RnB, high life and so on’.

Moreover, the Social director of the association,Mr. Tunmise was asked about the importance of the funfair done at the love garden. He said, ‘It is not about making everyone to have interest in music, but to make people feel a live performance. We have been listening to hip-hop songs and other songs on phone,but when people come around and listen to live music,it gives a sense of belonging and association’.

The Social Director also promised that the funfair will not stop but will be a continuous event even within lecture period.
