The University of Ibadan 76th convocation kick off in style at the International Conference Center (ICC), today, Wednesday 13th, November 2024.
This yearly ceremony is graced with the presence of prominent personalities including the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole; Ademola Adumola, Vice Chancellor of Aliqmah University, Prof. Noah Yusuf, Rector of University of Ibadan, Prof. C. Chuka, alongside parents and guardians of the graduand.
The ceremony commenced with the introduction of dignitaries by Prof. Adenike Akinjobi. The Vice Chancellor, in his address, told the graduating students that “in the face of the unprecedented downturn being experienced, I believe that your journey in university of Ibadan has honed you for the challenges out there.”
“ We celebrate not only your acdemic accomplished but your perseverance. You have earned your degree but most importantly you have gained knowledge and skills during the journey…. Nevertheless, remember that education is a foundation not a destination,” he added.
There are a total of 6, 553 graduates, including students from Distance Learning and a total of 111 Diploma certificates would also be awarded.
