AMANAT STEPS DOWN FROM VICE-PRESIDENTIAL RACE

A Vice-Presidential aspirant for the Students’ Union, University of Ibadan, Amanat Ibitowa has stepped down from the race, a source close to the Electoral Commission told UCJUI.

It was gathered that she could not obtain the form which obtainment closes by 12:00am on Friday, 8th April, 2016.

All Ibitowa said when the UCJUI reporter called to ask her if the rumour gaining ground that she’s stepped down was true was “yes” as she responded to the question of why she stepped with abrupt end to the call.

Rumour has it in some quarters that it becomes imperative for Amanat Ibitowa to step as she got no one to sponsor her campaign.

It should be recalled that Miss Ibitowa’s emergence as a Vice Presidential hopeful for the 2016’s UISU race came with glamour and elation as many political heavyweights in the Union politics threw their weight behind her, at least for that day.

It must however be noted that she is the latest aspirant to back out of the race after Muyiwa Akinbileje, Gift Agboro, Joseph Ogeleyinbo have all stepped down from General Secretary, Vice Presidential and Presidential race respectively.

There is also a rumour that Adegbola Oluwafemi aka BOKO has stepped down as well but he debunked that when UCJUI contacted him.
