Students of the University of Ibadan have shown the school management that they are not in any way happy with the management on the rustication of Mr Tunji Ekpeti, Mote as most students have negatively criticized the stand of the school on Mote’s suspension. The press release, which was posted on the Official Group of The Students’ Union, University of Ibadan by Mr Tunji Oladejo, the school’s P.R.O has at the time of filing this report generated sixty comments and seventeen likes..
The report came as a result of a protest that was staged by NANS, Oyo State in conjunction with UISU. The school claims in the release that the protest caused disturbance of activities in the school and that Mote was found guilty of leading a protest on Thursday, 19 November, 2015 when he should be be in Port Harcourt for an IT programme.
“You should be arrested for wrong use of social media. Can’t imagine such lies.” Paul Dharblizz Tolulope Alasiri commented.
“Please, somebody tell me, who or what is this Tunji Oladejo ? My name’s IBTA” – Oyindamola Radiyyah Mohammed
“In my own understanding of JUST WAR in the book of Salamanka, Tunji Mote Two Ekpeti embarked on a just war and he was crucified for it…what an insane society. #FreeMote” – Yusuf Qudus Oyindamola
“Sir, your son is a 400l Law Student in this same university and he is an aspirant for LSS President. Sir, would you be happy if your son is rusticated for one semester for protesting against poor welfare peradventure he becomes LSS President? I am just wondering……” – Teslim Ogundiran Teslim
“Ha Mr Oladejo..when u label a protest against injustice “guilty”..I believe u should be made to face a firing squad!! Birds of a feather..” – Kunle Lawal
“This is bullshit….No sane adult can sit down to type dis shit” – Oloruntoba Ayokunmi Olayinka
“Mr. Tunji Oladejo, the “small” respect I have for you just droped in Awba dam right now. Instead of you to advice the management on what to do, you are here acting as an Oppressor. To you, there is Peace on campus without proper structure. You are the University PRO, what information do you have for the student on why they are suffering in this current situation? Shame! I say Shame on you and those that you compose this idiot Post with. I am waiting for you.”-Tokunbo Salako
“Sir, this piece is a disappointment in its entirety. I think it’s an affront on the entire students of University of Ibadan. Are we now saying a student of the institution who is on IT, a recognised program of the school, ceases to be a student of the school as far as he or she is on IT? Are we saying a student cannot speak out against injustice or participate in peaceful demonstrations because he’s on IT? Sir, i think you are in a great position to advice the management on things to do to foster peace on campus not trying to present blue as black to unsuspecting members of the public… #SayNoInjustice… #IstandWithMote” – Adeyemi Olamiposi
“He was found guilty of leading a protest is the same with saying he was found guilty of saying no- so’ no- about what or no to what? -to electricy failure.! So is the management for electricity failure?- that they should expel one for saying no to electricity failure?- Pls If the management is pro- electricity failure- let us know ‘again’, maybe then- it may begin to make sense. And he disrupted peace- how exactly? Electricity failure is disrupting peace- electricity outage for weeks- without a statement from the management- this I know is disruption- or do you disagree? Again- Pls If the management is pro- electricity failure- let us know ‘again’, maybe then- it may begin to make sense. And the management need not make any appeal- they can end this- this moment by doing what is right. It is in your hands.”- A Better Nigeria
