The sole aspirant for the position of House Secretary of the Students’ Union, University of Ibadan, Mr. Osasona Adekusibe popularly called Osas, had said his priority, if elected, will be to prioritize the needs of Uites.
He made this known during the Press Night organized by the Union of Campus Journalists in conjunction with the Students’ Union Electoral Commission on Thursday 14th April 2016.
Osas mentioned that he will not be advocating for the needs of students alone as he would work with a group of individuals so as to achieve this cause.
In his words, “I am going to work with a committee and I am going to advocate for students when the need arises.”
While answering questions from Pressmen as regards the purpose of the Students’ Union bus, Mr. Osasona said that the bus is meant to be driven only when the need arises and anyone who is not a student of the University should not handle the control of the bus.
“I am not supposed to be driving it (Students’ Union bus) about except the need arises. I see no reason why someone who is not a Uite should ride the bus.”
He added that if anyone who is not a Uite is found driving the Students’ Union bus, after I am elected, I should be held for it.
