AFAS PUBLIC HEARING POSTPONED

On 30th September, 2015, the public hearing for the amendment of the Constitution of the Association of Faculty of Arts Students (AFAS) was postponed as a result of low turnout of students and consequently a vote was cast with five congressmen voting for the hearing to continue while ten congressmen voted for the postponement of the hearing. The initial venue for the hearing was Room 34 in the Faculty of Arts but was later moved to the Mike Okigbe library. Due to the postponement of the hearing, an ad hoafasc committee constituting the CPS Chairman, the AFAS President, the FLC Speaker, the Constitution Review Chairman, the Editor-in-Chief, AFAS press, P.R.O of the Faculty, Hon. Mustapha, Hon. Owonikoko and Hon. Ogundare, was formed. This committee would meet with the Dean of the Faculty to communicate the changes to him. Congressman, Owonikoko Mike pleaded with the congress to paste a copy of the constitution at the Faculty for the students’ benefit and this was agreed uponby the congress. The hearing was postponed till the 9th October, 2015.
