AFAS EXCURSION: THE FAILURE IN SUCCESS

It is no more a news that the AFO-led administration has recorded another success over the last administration with the recent excursion that they just embarked upon. The administration seized the opportunity from the outset and did not give room to any barrier that wanted to barricade the road to the success of the programme. We give big kudos to the AFO-led administration for the great feat achieved.

However, there were some occurrences that dented the programme. The failure started right from home when there was not enough preparation for transportation which led to overloading. We want to ask our amiable executives if they did not have the list of those who were going for the excursion or they just decided to ignore the list by parking the students like goods being transported to Aswani market in Lagos.

In addition, the insufficient food at the night and the ganja boys made the camp disastrous for the sane. The fact that some were not given food further proved that the preparation for the programme was not at its best. The drunkards and smokers made the venue horrible for the innocent minds. We wonder the type of character UI has been preaching to us. You should at leastsave your alcohol and weeds for just a day. After all, the drink led to a fight and one began to wonder the difference among you and the thugs outside there, maybe we should conclude that you are their second breed and should not be surprised that the concept of stomach infrastructure started from the beer bar. Very soon, UI will begin to produce GANJA GRADUATES.

Also, the inability of the executives to make it to the OsunOsogbo sacred groove left many disappointed. Many understood the reason behind this failure but not everybody will definitely buy your hand-made excuses. After all, there is no excuse for failure. The failure story in the success of the programme continued with the late movement that made the adventure more of a tour than an excursion.

In all, the excursion was a wonderful adventure and will be a memorable event in the lives of those that attended the excursion. Indeed, it has added another cap to AFO-led administration’s achievement. But for how long shall we continue to hide under imperfection to perpetrate evil? The excursion was good and the organizers tried their possible best, but the inadequacies created by their inability to foresee some perceived problems made the excursion a diluted programme.
