UI’SU Press Night: Techiz Expects 1,000 Participants at Financial Seminar

Israel Ayoade Adefi, popularly known as Techiz, Treasurer aspirant of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union (UI’SU), said his proposed financial seminar would attract about 1,000 participants, while explaining his plans for an alumni list and a website for student entrepreneurs.

During the questioning session at the UI’SU Press Night, Fatope asked how Israel intended to contact and identify alumni for his proposed Forbes list.

Israel said most of the alumni he knew were family who had graduated from the university. When asked to name them, he mentioned Michael Ayodele (2016/17), Christianah Oluwakemi (2025/26), Emmanuel Ayodele, Titilayo Ayodele and Godwin Obaseki of the Department of Classics.

His response offered limited details on how he intended to identify and reach a wider pool of alumni for the proposed list.

On his proposed financial seminar, Israel said he expected about 1,000 participants to attend the training. In his manifesto, he explained that the seminar would equip students with practical knowledge of financial management, fintech, entrepreneurship, investment and sustainable income generation.

Regarding his proposed e-commerce initiative, Israel said the plan was to create one website for entrepreneurs across the University of Ibadan, rather than separate websites for individual businesses.

Asked how he intended to fund the project, he said he would leverage the software development expertise of Techiz Digital, the company he founded, to develop the platform.
