The Asido Campus Network, University of Ibadan, has announced plans to host its annual Blue Bake Sale as part of efforts to support children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The event, scheduled to be held on Saturday, the 25th of April 2026, at the SUB Car Park by 11am, is a fundraising initiative organised in commemoration of World Autism Day.
According to the statement signed by the President of the network, David Akinjare, the Blue Bake Sale involves the sale of cakes and pastries to raise funds for organisations dedicated to child development and mental health care.
The network disclosed that previous editions of the initiative have raised over ₦500,000, which has been donated to institutions including the Centre for Early Development, Learning and Care (CEDLAC), University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Aba Homes, and the Taiwo Aderinyo Foundation. This year’s proceeds, like at other years, will focus on children with developmental and mental health needs.
It is of note that, the Asido Campus Network, is a student-led mental health advocacy group affiliated with the Asido Foundation, which focuses on promoting mental well-being among students through awareness campaigns, peer counselling, advocacy, and research.
The organisation has called on members of the university community, student bodies, and the general public to participate in and support the initiative to ensure wider reach and impact.
