UI Holds First Day of 2024/25 Convocation Ceremony

The University of Ibadan began holding the first day of its convocation ceremony on Monday, 11th of November 2025, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

The first day of the convocation had students from the Faculties of Arts, Science, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Public Health, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences receiving their degrees.

The first day also featured the recognition of students with outstanding academic performance across various faculties.

In the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Inioluwa John (Medicine and Surgery), Adesola Oluwasola (Nursing), Louis Olamide Awe and Victor Temiloluwa Arowosafe (Physiotherapy) all graduated as the Best graduating students of their respective departments.

From the Faculty of Public Health, Obi Favour (Human Nutrition and Dietetics) also graduated with First Class Honours. Adewole Anuoluwapo Pamilerin was named the Best Graduating Female Student in her department, while Adeyemi Eniola Arike and Ridwan Olaide were recognised for notable academic performances.

In the Faculty of Dentistry, Ata Olalekan Vincent emerged as the Best Graduating Student, receiving the Faculty Prize and the Professor Lawoyin Award. Mary Olajumoke Babatunde was named Best Graduating Student in Oral Medicine.

The convocation ceremonies are scheduled to continue throughout the week, with more faculties expected to hold their sessions in the following days.
