Faculty of Technology Defeats Faculty of Science 1-0 to Win the Interfaculty Male Football Competition

On Saturday, 18th October 2025, the Faculty of Technology was crowned Champions of the UISU-organised inter-faculty football competition, defeating the Faculty of Science in the final match of the tournament.


The match, played on the Old Football Pitch SUP, kicked off with Science playing an offensive game. Kevwe from the Faculty of Science had the first shot at the goal, which went over the bar. The first shot on target came from Bolaji for the Faculty of Science, but Ekene, the goalkeeper for the Faculty of Technology, pushed the ball over the bar. The Faculty of Science’s offensive game gave the team more opportunities in front of the goal than the Faculty of Technology, but they were unable to convert any of the chances into a goal. Both teams failed to find the net at halftime, with the scoreline holding at 0-0 at halftime.


At the start of the second half, Tech kicked off with an offensive strategy, causing a disruption at the Science defence, but Akinpade from the Faculty of Technology team was unable to find the net, sending the ball wide. The Faculty of Science had the best highlight of the day, but they were unable to convert any of the chances they had on goal.

The only goal of the day came from the Faculty of Technology when Pamilerin found the back of the net with a shot from inside the box.


The Faculty of Science kept pressing the defence of the Faculty of Technology but was unable to convert any of the chances. The final minutes of the game came with more pressure, but the Faculty of the Technology team asked, “What pressure?”, holding on to their 1-0 lead till the end of the game.

The faculty of Technology was crowned winners of the interfaculty Male football competition, securing a 1-0 victory over the faculty of science.

The competition ended with awards given to outstanding players in the tournament. Obaloluwa from the Faculty of Social Sciences was awarded the highest goal scorer of the tournament with 3 goals. Ayodele Oluwapamilerin from the Faculty of Technology was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament, while Ekene from the Faculty of Technology was awarded the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
