The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) scheme has revealed new guidelines on the Upkeep Loan disbursement.
It announced that the upkeep would cease to be disbursed outside of an academic session.
This was made known via a press release from the office of the President.
Moreover, students were advised to apply for the NELFUND loan at the start of the session to qualify for the upkeep loan as well as institutional charges.
“Furthermore, interested loan applicants are required to apply for the loan at the beginning of every academic session to be eligible for both institutional charges and upkeep for that particular session” the release read.
It further advised institutions to ensure early disclosure of their academic calendar, to afford their students the fill benefits of the loan.
