ZIKITES ‘CHEF UP’ AT COMMON POT NIGHT
On Saturday, Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall held its Common Pot night amidst air-bursting drumming and cooking. The loud beating of the drum seemed to so tactfully conspire with the aromatic scent of the food to attract even non-Zikites from as far as Mellanby Hall and Tedder Hall.
The festivities began early in the evening, with Zikites individually donating foodstuffs to be prepared together. The scene was soon filled with hungry pot-wielding Zikites(and outsiders). When asked about what the event meant, a Zikite, John Uyabeme replied “It is unifying, it makes one feel part of the Zik community”. And we can testify that it did, because on that fateful night, the Baluba kingdom attracted a lot of hungry tourists claiming to be sons of the land.
