Sigma Club has on the 4th of March 2025, announced the shortlist of the Benedict Kudaya Sigma Essay competition. which spanned from August 16th 2024 to September 16th 2024.
The essay competition was opened to students of the University of Ibadan and 15 entries made the shortlist.
Commenting on the release of the shortlist, Sigma Chief mentioned that the club believes true excellence depended on the ability to think critically, reason deeply, express ideas and drive positive change and was not just restricted to academics.
“From August 16th to September 16th, we called for entries, and the response was remarkable. It was a clear reflection of the intellect and creativity that exists within our student body.
Now, we have reached the final stage, the top 15 entries have been selected, and emails have been sent to them. To all who participated, we commend your effort and brilliance.” He told the UCJ.
Winners of the essay competition will be revealed on the Sigma Members’ Night.
