JUST IN: UCJUI Releases Final Shortlist For Sunday Oguntola Essay

The Union of Campus Journalists (UCJ), University of Ibadan, has announced the final
shortlist for this year’s Sunday Oguntola Essay Competition.

These finalists for this 4th edition of the competition was announced in a statement signed by the organization’s President, Tarre Elizabeth Tosanwunmi.

“For this year, the topic was how to combat inflation and improve the naira value with monetary policies and our campus journalists, with their fierce pens as ever, turned in brilliant articles,” her statement read in parts.

She also appreciated the sponsor, Mr. Sunday Oguntola, an alumnus and the Editorial Adviser of the Union for his continuous support through the sponsorship of this essay competition yearly.

“I, as well as every campus journalist, look forward to the unveiling of the top 3 at the November 30th Induction Ceremony and Global Campus Journalism Summit 1.0,” she added.

Recall that entries for the completion opened on August 14th, 2024 with the topic “Using monetary policies to combat increasing inflation and improve value of the naira.”

Oludare Olufunmilola

Nusiroh Shuaib

Ibraheem Fiyinfoluwa

Adeyemo Mercy

Winners would be announced and presented with prizes during the induction ceremony scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
