JUST IN: US University Selects UI Students For Fully-funded Global Internship

Alao Lukmon Olamilekan and Tomiwa Haruna, both 400-level students of Wood Engineering Department, University of Ibadan students, have been awarded a fully-funded internships at Oregon State University (OSU) in the United States.

The internship, which will run for 3-months is hosted by the institution’s College of Forestry. It is an inaugural cohort and they would be working with researchers and professional in forest management, timber production, modeling, natural resources, ecology, and renewable materials, during the period of engagement.

The University of Ibadan stands out as the only Nigerian institution among the thirteen higher education institutions worldwide selected for this prestigious program.

Olamilekan and Haruna were chosen globally from a competitive pool of 152 applicants. The selection process involved submitting a statement of purpose and participating in a rigorous interview, indicating the high standards and competitive nature of this program.
