
The Kegite Club of Nigeria, National Headquarters, University of Ibadan, on Sunday morning held it coronation ceremony in the Nnamdi Azikwe Hall cafeteria.
The ceremony marks the end of a keg year and the commencement of a new one with a new Chief.
Victor Oluwafemi, a penultimate student of the department of Geography was crowned the new Chief of the club, while Tomiwa Wahab, a 400l student of the department of Psychology was named the new Elder (Vice President) for the 2022/2023 keg year.
The ceremony was characterized by cultural singing and dancing which went on for hours during the overnight event which also included various coronation rites.
Dignitaries who had passed through the club as undergraduates were in attendance.
Speaking with UCJ UI, Victor, the new Kegites Chief expressed delight on his emergence as Chief. He said he is committed to repositioning the club for greater heights.
“It is a great honour to be Chief. I will give my best to uphold the ‘kariability’ (credibility) of the club,” he said.
