Representatives of Sigma Club, University of Ibadan paid a courtesy visit to the DPO of Sango Police Station, Mr Aikuola Moses, on Tuesday, March 8.
According to a statement by the club’s Chief Scribe, Benjamin Babatola, the visit is a means to strengthen the cordial relationship between the Sango Police Command and the Club.
Members of the club were welcomed by the Command’s Admin officer, DSP Iyaduni Ademina, who introduced the principal officer of the station to the representatives of the club.
In his address, the DPO spoke about the cordial relationship that exists between the Sango Police Command and the University of Ibadan and as a result, it will be extended to the club. He emphasized that he looks forward to having a good relationship with the club. He further states that the existing relationship with the students union and the management has gotten to the best level of friendship and has warranted a gift of a patrol van from UI Management.
He concluded his address by stating that there have been fewer criminal records around the UI community, Orogun, Agbowo axis.
“A case study of active security provisions is security measures and interference at the International Conference Center (ICC) at every event organized by the institution, patrols around Agbowo community at night among others are all our efforts to protect the lives and property of the people. The police are your friend” he said.
The DPO showered encomiums on the club for maintaining a high standard since it got established.
The Sigma Chief, Lucky Eluwa, stated that the club stands firm with its aim, which is a social and Philanthropic cause that has spread across, within and outside the University community. He commended the efforts and support of the Sango Police command towards the club.
The visitation ended with a cross-section of the photographs with the club and host.
