The organizers of the 11th Edition of the Lanre Bello Inter-Faculty Debate, Kelechi Chukwuka and Adebisi Amori of the Junior Chamber International, University of Ibadan, have disclosed that Hon. Saheed Akinade-Fijabi, a two-term member of the House of Representatives and former House Committee Chairman on Telecommunications, will grace the public speaking event on Friday, September 3rd, 2021.
Lanre Bello Inter-Faculty Debate is an annual public speaking event organised by the University of Ibadan Chapter of the Junior Chamber International. The event, which is one of the biggest public speaking events in the University of Ibadan, offers a platform for students across faculties of the University to debate topical issues and proffer creative solutions.
Among other dignitaries expected to grace the 2021 edition is JCIN Ambassador Oluwafemi Nathaniel Marquis, a managing partner at Da-Suit Luxury Nigeria Limited, who is expected to discuss the theme of the event: “Youth in Politics.”
It was also learnt that the popular choral group in the University of Ibadan, Law Chorale, will perform at the event which is scheduled to come up at the First Bank Building of the Faculty of Agriculture.
When asked what people should look out for at this year’s event, the directors said: “People should look forward to an amazing event from start to finish. The theme of this year’s debate is a topical one and so are the debate topics. People should look out for great speeches and action points that would leave them motivated to engage in the political space and make impacts, no matter how little.”
