The Vice Chancellor of University of Ibadan, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka has provided explanations for the seeming delay in the release of first semester results.
In a release, a copy of which was addressed to the Union of Campus Journalists, the Vice Chancellor apologized for the delay in the release of first semester results. He explained that the delay was due to some associated with the ongoing development of a novel result management system by the Information Technology and Media Services (ITeMs).
Professor Olayinka also promised that once the result management system has been fully developed and the Faculty Board of Examiners as well as the Senate have held their sittings and approved the results, students of the Ivory Tower will then be able to access the Web to view their results.
“I wish to apologise for the inconvenience caused by non release of your First Semester Examination Results.”
“We are developing a new Result Management System which offers a seamless process for compiling your transcripts of academic records. Unfortunately, there have been some hitches which we are working on; hence the delay.”
“As soon as this problem is fixed by the Information Technology and Media Services (ITeMS) Unit we shall convene meetings of the Faculty Board of Examiners and then Senate. Please bear with us.”
