UIAMEH ALREADY ADMIT DEFEAT WITH SIGMA DECISION

ObetaAmeh, a presidential candidate for the 2014 SU elections has finally cleared the air as regard the choice made by SIGMA Club which he is a member over to chooseTeslimOgundiranTeslim, popularly called TOT another aspirant in the race.

He said “I am not having any grudge against SIGMA club over their decision. Sigma is a fraternity, we need one voice. The reasons for choosing Teslim is that he is the only candidate from Law and we are two from my faculty. It is not that I have not done to expectation.”

IF ELECTED I WILL MAKE SURE WE HAVE 18 HOURS POWER SUPPLY- JOHNEXTO

While presenting his manifestoat the students’ union presidential debate organised by the UCJ. He promised that if elected as the next SU president, he will make sure there is 18 hours power supply and water running in our toilets. He further said there will ATM and mini market in ObafemiAwolowo Hall.

OTHER ASPIRANTS CONDEMN TOT’S DISQUALIFICATION

After a question posed to the aspirants from the audience to prove right the decision to disqualify an aspirant for the same post, every candidate condemn the disqualification as they all say it is injustice and the electoral committee do not follow the students’ union constitution as quoted by the aspirants.Each of them also blames the disqualification on the inactive students’ union operating within the campus.

 

 

 

 

PHARMACY GRADUATES BECOMES PROFESSIONALS

On Thursday, July 3, 2014 the faculty of Pharmacy officially certified those who completed B.Pharm programme during the 2012/2013 academic session. The anointing session was chaired by the vice-chancellor, Professor I.F Adewole, who also advised the new professionals to use the knowledge gained during their stay in the school in service for humanities and never to forget that their certificate is never based only on learning but also character.

THEARTER ART NOVELTY MATCH

In a process to welcome the new students in theatre art department, a novelty match was played on sultan Bello hall Pitch on Saturday, 5 July where the fresh female almost won with a lone-goal but end with a draw (1-1) while the male counterparts do not have the availability to score a goal as the stale students beats them with three goals (3-o)

UITES STARTS COMPLAIN OVER WI-FI

From Monday, 30 June the wireless connections in the halls of residence have not been functioning properly. The students have been saying the prophesied situation had come to past.While many are saying the WI-FIs are substantial, some have said the rain must have caused its malfunctioning.However, they are now pleading to the hall management to look into this quickly and rectify the situation.

IF THE STUDENTS’ UNION IS STILL DEPENDENT, THE HALL CAN NEVER BE- OLAWUNI MUSTAPHA

While answering questions from the panellist of the students’ union presidential debate, he said the halls of residence can never be independent when the students’ union is not. He said “we need to work hand-in hand to make sure our students union is independent first. If that is solved, then our halls of residence’s independent can be the next and this can only be done”

HALL CHAIRMAN CHASES MUSTAPHA FROM CAMPAIGNING IN KUTI

On Sunday, 6 July, Olawuni Mustapha popularly known as Hope 14 was in Kuti hall to campaign using the public address system of the hall after seeking permission from theinformation minister, Mr Haastrup. He was about to continue his campaign after mentioning his name when the hall chairman snatched the microphone from him and told him to leave the hall. It almost got into a fight between Hope 14 supporters and Huntersola team if not for the intervention of the porters

TOT OFFICIALLY DISQUALIFIED FROM SU RACE

TeslimOgundiranTeslim whose disqualification’s rumor has filled the air was officially declared disqualified from the students’ union presidential race with a bulletin from the school authority confirming his disqualification.

This was read to the hearing of the audience present at the presidential debate, held at SU event centre by the president of the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan, Mr FolayemiKayode.

UITES PLEAD TO DOCTORS IN JAJA CLINIC

The students on the premier campus are pleading to the doctors in the university health centre who joined their colleague in the nation-wide strike to attend to those who have health challenges.

A student who spoke with our correspondent in anonymity said “I am appealing to the doctors to please attend to us even though there will be a time limit.We know you are fighting for your right but please remember health is wealth and we need to study”

While answering the question raised by the president of TafawaBalewa hall “how would carry along the Postgraduates’ students, if elected as president” he said what has been the problem is that the Postgraduates and college of medicines’ students residing in Alexander Brown Hall is their inaccessibility to information on what is going on in the Union.

He, however promise never to neglect them, seek advice from them and also make use of them as tutorial masters for the undergraduates

HUNTERSOLA DENIED THE ALLEGED RUMOR               

Odefemi Victor has said he was not in the hall when one of his supporters removed a publication from the press board and when he was briefed; he saw the news which was an assignation of character. He further said he has met the deputy editor-in-chief and settle things out.

 

 

HUNTERSOLA, JONNEXTO RATED CURRENT SU LEADERSHIP 4 AS HOPE AND AMEH RATE THEM 5

Huntersola, Jonnexto rated the current BB led- Administration below average as he said they have not perform up to expectations and they have dampen the spirit of unionism in the students of the premier University.

While Hope and Ameh disagree with them as they rate the current administration on an average level with reasons that they have laid the foundation and the era to build the proactive and responsible union is for the next administration.
