The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan has unveiled winners of the 8th Edition of the Fisayo Soyombo Inter-Varsity Essay Competition.
The announcement was made during the annual award/handover ceremony of the union that was held on Friday, December 19th, at the Music Concert Hall, University of Ibadan.
Among the 3 winners of this year’s edition were a student of the University of Ibadan, Olowolayemo Samuel, a 500l MBBS student, who emerged as the third-prize winner.
The overall winner is Michael Williams, a 500l Law student from the University of Lagos and finishing first runner-up is Alimi Azeez, a 400l MBBS student from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.


The first prize winner will be awarded N350,000, second prize N300,000, third prize N250,000, and also an opportunity for the top three to intern at FIJ.
This competition is an endowment of Fisayo Soyombo, a former UCJUI President and now the founder of the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ).
