UIDECIDES’26: DEBOYE EMERGES SU PRESIDENT AS SUEC’UI RELEASES OFFICIAL RESULTS

Adeboye Temidayo, popularly known as Deboye, has emerged winner of the 2026 Students’ Union presidential election at the University of Ibadan, following the release of official results by the Students’ Union Electoral Commission (SUEC).

Deboye polled a total of 2,943 votes to defeat his closest rival, Olawoye Emmanuel (Emmy), who secured 2,124 votes. A number of ballots were also recorded as undecided in the presidential race.

Results released across other contested positions showed victories in several offices, with candidates emerging unopposed in some categories, while others were closely contested.

Below are the detailed results as released by the SUEC’UI:

Olawoye Emmanuel (Emmy) – 2,124 votes

Undecided – 297

VICE PRESIDENT

Salawu Glory – 2,893 votes (Elected)

Ojo Adebimpe – 2,321 votes

Undecided – 150 votes

GENERAL SECRETARY

Shontan Joshua – 4,681 votes (Elected)

Undecided – 683 votes

ASSISTANT GENERAL SECRETARY

Fidelia Eseile – 3,038 votes (Elected)

Adegboye Habeebullahi – 2,102 votes

Undecided – 224 votes

TREASURER

Odey John – 2,527 votes (Elected)

Sobowale Adedamola – 2,493 votes

Undecided – 344 votes

PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER

Awofadeju Olasukanmi – 4,788 votes (Elected)

Undecided – 576 votes

HOUSE SECRETARY

Tifase Oluwatimilehin – 4,834 votes (Elected)

Undecided: 530 votes

SPORTS SECRETARY

Siyanbade Adedamola – 4,567 votes (Elected)

Undecided – 344 votes
