The Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ibadan chapter, Professor Ayoola Akinwole has told UCJ UI that the chapter was yet to receive a directive from the national body on tomorrow being a lecture-free day.
Prof. Akinwole said this over a call with UCJ UI correspondent. He noted that the Union has its line of information and that the chapter was yet to receive the directive from the national executive of ASUU.
The National President of the Union, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, in an interview with PUNCH, had announced tomorrow, February 7 as lecture-free in all public universities, in preparation for a Nation-wide strike.
Prof. Osodeke explained that the free day would enable its chapters across the country to sensitise members of the public on the situation between the union and the Federal Government.
