Workers in the University of Ibadan marked the end of Prof Idowu Olayinka’s tenure by cleaning the premises and making bean cakes, OYOINSIGHT reports.
The workers earlier held a Thanksgiving programme before moving to Tekena Tamuno building where they cleaned the entire place.
Amidst resounding ululations, they went to the main gate and swept the entire area till the main road, after which they burned all the brooms they had with them and sanitised their hands before returning to the institution.
On return, they fried bean cakes to mark the propitious moment.
Prof Olayinka’s five-year tenure was riddled with battles against the workers union over the administration of the institution.
